Your money data stays with you

Short version: Fintrack works without an account. In that mode your financial records are saved only in your own browser and are never sent to us. We don't use analytics, ads, tracking pixels or cookies. If you choose to create an account, your records are synced to our database so you can use them on other devices.
1. Using Fintrack without an account (default)
- Transactions, IOUs and contacts, business cashbook entries, invoices, templates, branding and preferences are stored in your browser's local storage on your device.
- This data is not transmitted to Fintrack. We cannot see it, recover it or delete it for you.
- Clearing your browser data, cookies or site storage, using private browsing, or losing the device deletes it. Use Settings & backup → Download full backup to keep a copy. Backup files contain your financial details, so store them securely.
2. Optional account and cloud sync
If you create an account, we process:
- Your email address and a password hash, to sign you in. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider; we never see them in plain text.
- A copy of your Fintrack records (the same data listed above), stored so it can sync to your other devices. Each account can only read and write its own records.
- Transactional emails (sign-up confirmation and password recovery) sent to your address. We do not send marketing email.
Sign-in tokens are kept in memory only, so you sign in again after reloading. You can stop syncing at any time by signing out; to delete your account and its cloud records, email us (see Contact) from the address on the account.

4. What we don't do
- No bank connections. Fintrack never asks for bank or card logins.
- No money movement. Fintrack only records amounts you enter.
- No selling or sharing your data for advertising. No analytics or tracking scripts.
5. Children
Fintrack is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
